In this update you will see the changes taking place to the bedrooms and the 2nd bathroom.
The other bathroom
In today’s world everyone wants more than one bathroom especially when the bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. As you will see in the photo below this bathroom had some design flaws, the mirror over the vanity actually closed over the window, the tub was placed under the eave leaving little head room.
The crew at Spooner’s Home Improvement Services has added a dormer to open up the roof line and will be replacing the tub with a shower. They have also sealed the window to open the far wall for the placement of the shower and are moving the vanity to the wall on the right next to the toilet. The photo below shows how adding the dormer opened up the wall where the tub was adding head room. I will bring you more as this room continues to progress.
This home has 3- bedrooms all of which had the old plaster & lathe and wood paneling on the walls; the paint was peeling and the plaster cracked or falling.
The Master Bedroom
The plaster has been removed and sheet rock hung and painted, the old windows have been replaced with new energy rated vinyl replacement windows, the closet was opened up and new doors installed. Below left before renovations started, on the right after sheetrock hung before windows replaced.
Below left you can see how the closet was opened up, on the right you’ll see the windows have been framed in and the walls have been painted.
The 2nd Bedroom
The 2nd Bedroom had wood paneling on the walls over the old plaster & Lathe. The paneling has been removed along with the old plaster and new sheetrock has been hung.
The 3rd Bedroom
The 3rd Bedroom had paint peeling away from the old plaster and there were cracks in the walls. Below you will see the how the room has progressed, like the other bedrooms the plaster was removed and new sheet rock has been hung. The windows have been replaced and the walls and ceiling have been painted.
This concludes my update for this week as always I look forward to any comments, suggestions and feedback.
